Increasing evidence suggests that paraoxonase (PON) 1 is an important risk factor for CVD. In this study, we evaluated the correlations between PON1 protein concentration and cardiac function and atherosclerosis in patients on HD. A cohort of 119 patients (59 males) on maintenance HD participated in the study in which we measured common clinical parameters and serum PON1 concentrations. We also evaluated cardiac function by echocardiography after maintenance dialysis sessions. The median serum PON1 concentration was 40.8μg/mL (range, 11.8-81.1μg/mL) in patients on HD and is significantly associated with a history of CVD and peripheral artery disease. The serum PON1 level is positively correlated with the concentration of albumin (r = 0.26, P < 0.01), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL, r = 0.19, P < 0.05), calcium (r = 0.23, P < 0.05), urea nitrogen (r = 0.20, P < 0.05) and creatinine (r = 0.22, P < 0.05), and negatively correlated with pulse pressure (r = -0.20, P < 0.05). Among the echocardiographic parameters, the PON1 concentration is significantly and negatively correlated with left atrial dimension (LAD, r = -0.31, P < 0.05) and left ventricular mass index (LVMI, r = -0.35, P < 0.005). Stepwise multivariate regression analysis showed that PON1 is an independent predictor of LVMI (adjusted r2 = 0.34). Therefore the serum PON1 concentration could contribute to the development of LVH and it could be an independent predictor of CVD in patients on maintenance HD.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10002_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Showa Medical Association and Showa University"}]},"item_10002_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"10.15369/sujms.22.199"}}]},"item_10002_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0915-6380"}]},"item_10002_version_type_20":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"MATSUMOTO, Kei"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"WATANABE, Makoto"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"OMORI, Maho"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"HONDA, Hirokazu"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"HATTORI, Hiroaki"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"AKIZAWA, Tadao"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2019-07-26"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"S22_199.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"95.8 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"S22_199.pdf","url":"https://showa.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/724/files/S22_199.pdf"},"version_id":"f6ef12f8-d5c4-447a-bfe6-8a1e8c69e8b8"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper"}]},"item_title":"Serum Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) Concentration as a Marker of Left Ventricular Mass Index (LVMI) and Atherosclerosis in Hemodialysis Patients","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Serum Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) Concentration as a Marker of Left Ventricular Mass Index (LVMI) and Atherosclerosis in Hemodialysis Patients"}]},"item_type_id":"10002","owner":"1","path":["98"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2016-12-19"},"publish_date":"2016-12-19","publish_status":"0","recid":"724","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Serum Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) Concentration as a Marker of Left Ventricular Mass Index (LVMI) and Atherosclerosis in Hemodialysis Patients"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":1},"updated":"2023-05-15T12:37:17.284325+00:00"}
